I’m Mr. Barnum, a Bridgeport based writer. Since 2007, I’ve been posting my writings on a several Connecticut websites including My Left Nutmeg, Only in Bridgeport, and the original Bridgeport In The Know Yahoo group.

Now that Bridgeport In The Know has gone dot.com, the owner Joan Nutmeg has asked me to create this blog for her site.

Hopefully, this blog will make you laugh, make you cry, make you want to track me down and crack open my head with a shovel. Thinking is optional here, but only recommended with a note from your doctor.

In addition to being a writer and visual artist, I’m a devoted follower of the great philospher writer Delman Mangrove. I’m widely recognized as the world’s formost Mangrove scholar, and am the proud owner of the only known surviving copy of Mangrove’s essential work “The Layman’s Guide To Perspicacity”.

I’m also a minor league Hawaiian shirt collector and the culinary genius behind the tasty treats “Marzipan Jasper McLevy” coming soon to a candy counter near you.
