Breaking Crime News From the Bridgeport Butcher Case!

lisa

Former Bridgeport City Council President and Democratic Registrar of Voters Lisa “Honey” Parziale has been charged with shoplifting more than $80 worth of steaks from the Madison Avenue Stop & Shop.

She was charged with sixth-degree larceny and must appear in superior court on March 27th.
According to police, she attempted to walk out of the store without paying for $83 in rib steaks. (Me, I’m a T-Bone and debit card guy, but to each his own.)
According to the CT Post, a store surveillance camera allegedly recorded Parziale leaving the store without paying for the food. She was stopped outside the store by store employees who told her they had called police.

Parziale, age 67, denied that she stole the meat, and stated that she was only trying to buy a dog gate in another part of the store. when approached by store employees who told her they had called police.

Well, your ace reporter isn’t casting any accusations in Ms. Parziale’s general direction. I’ve never even been to that Stop & Shop, so I have no idea when they keep the dog gates. Perhaps they keep them in the parking lot - right next to where she parked her car. It could happen!

Anyway, my city hall source “Gag Reflex” has once again come through by providing me with exclusive first access to a Stop & Shop surveillance tape. Decide for yourself. And leave my lawyer the hell out of it.

But the real devil here is in the details. If this tale is true, I for one would like to know–were those packages of meat allegedly still in her shopping cart or were they packed upon her person? And was the meat placed back on the shelves of S&S for other unsuspecting consumers to purchase? Inquiring carnivores want to know!
It’s a fact that many consumers are very picky about eating meat with a checkered past.
Remember, you’re not just eating the meat you’re eating. You’re eating all the meat that has been in contact with the meat you’re eating. It’s all one long link in the food chain.

Take a bit out of crime. And chew carefully. Life is tough, and your dinner has taken a long journey to reach you.
